Is Stress Affecting Your Health?
Here is a short quiz to determine if stress is affecting your health.
Are you feeling overwhelmed or over loaded?

If you answered YES to most of these questions than more than likely you are experiencing some type of stress. Below are some of my favorite tools to help you reduce your stress!
Stress comes in all shapes and sizes from physical (foods, drinks, toxins), mental (thoughts), emotions (feeling and expressing emotions), and spiritual (connection with yourself, your intuition, and with God). When one of these areas of your life is out of balance, stress can show up in your life through physical signs in your body (tension, weight, fatigue) or through your emotions (depression, anger, anxiety). The good news is that if you find balance through nutrition, self-care, and your thoughts you can master your stress and no longer let it rule your life. Below are some of my favorite go to's when I am feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
1. Eliminate Trigger Foods
Your gut holds more neurotransmitters than any other place in your body, so if you are feeling
anxious, irritated, or even sad I would definitely take a look at what you are eating. The foods that I find most irritating to the gut are diary, gluten, sugars, and processed foods. When I am feeling overwhelmed I usually like to eat light so I make a soup or a broth. Look under the recipe blogs to see my recipes. 2. Meditation/ Prayer/ Breathing
It is so important to take some time each day to meditate, pray, listen, and breathe. My spiritual counselor use to always tell me “God breathed life into us! He is always with you just connect back to your breath!”
Anytime that you are feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, irritated, exhausted, or whatever connect back to your breath and your creator! Deep breathing also helps switch us from our sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) to our parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest). Your breath is such a powerful tool and it is something you always have with you, so use it!
3. Epsom Salt Baths
Epsom salt is full of minerals which nourish the adrenals and the nervous system. It also helps to pull out toxin. In addition to its powerful properties, this is a great time to have alone time, quiet your mind, and let go of any stress. Self-care is such an essential part of decreasing stress and healing. It is so easy to give and give to others but we have to remember to take time and give to ourselves! This is key in staying balanced and reducing stress.
